SSC CGL Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2020
There are 4 stages in the SSC CGL Examination 2020 i.e Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4. To crack all phases students should prepare with a strong study plan. The Important Ingredients to prepare a rock study plan are a detailed exam pattern and syllabus of the respective exam.

In the last few years, It has been seen that SSC has changed Its exam pattern accordingly. So aspirants should take notes of these changes before starting their preparation. We are attaching some Important points below read them:
- Tier-1 – The time duration for SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam is reduced to 60 minutes i.e 1 hour.
- This year SSC has Introduced minimum qualifying marks for SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2020.
- The paper is organized to be conducted in the Computer Based Test(CBT) mode online.
- There will be normalization for the marks scored by candidates in the exam.
- Tier-II – There will be 4 papers in SSC CGL Tier-II Exam and the total time duration will be 60 minutes for each paper.
- There will be no sectional cut-off in any phases of SSC Exams.
- The Tier-III Descriptive paper will be conducted offline in a time duration of 60 minutes.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2020
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2020 will be conducted between 29 May to 07 June 2021 (as per SSC’s official calendar). The paper will be conducted online comprised of 4 subjects or sections in SSC CGL Tier 1 2020 Exam.

- There will be a total of 100 questions in the 1st stage of the SSC CGL Exam with 2 marks each.
- The total marks for SSC CGL Paper 1 are 200.
- The time duration for SSC CGL Pre Exam 2020 is 60 minutes.
- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Those candidates who will clear SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be eligible for SSC CGL Tier-II exam.
SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2020
SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2020 will be conducted in June 2021. SSC CGL Mains Exam 2020 will be conducted online comprised of 4 papers with maximum marks of 200. The no. of questions for each section is 100 except English which is 200.

The 1st two papers in Tier-II Exam i.e, Quantitative Aptitude & English Comprehension are compulsory for all candidates. The last two papers are optional for the required posts.
There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. No points will be deducted If a candidate doesn’t answer or leave a question.
SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam Pattern 2020
Tier 3 of the SSC Combined Graduate Level exam 2020 will be a Descriptive test. This paper will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode or offline mode. There will be two language options for aspirants English or Hindi. Total marks attributed for SSC CGL Tier 3 are 100 marks and the time duration is 60 minutes.

Candidates will be asked to write essays, precis, letter,s or applications in SSC Descriptive Test Exam. This test is conducted to check the writing skills of the aspirant.
SSC CGL Tier 4 Exam Pattern 2020
SSC CGL Tier 4 is a Computer Skill Test. It will be conducted in two steps i.e DEST & CPT.
DEST: DEST stands for Data Entry Speed Test. Aspirants are required to type 2000 words in English in 15 minutes on a computer. DEST is conducted to test the typing speed of the candidate as most of the posts are clerical based jobs.
CPT: CPT stands for Computer Proficiency Test. It is conducted to check a candidate’s proficiency in word processing, Spreadsheets, and Generation of slides.

Note: The level for paper 1 will be of matriculation level, paper II will be of 10+2 level or intermediate level and paper III and paper IV will be of graduation level.
