Kathmandu Connection Review
‘Kathmandu Connection’ is set in the aftermath of the 1993 Bombay blasts. In the same year, post the explosions, follows three significant incidents; Sandip Garg (Vijit Singh), the investigating officer in the blasts is murdered on 25th March, Dharmendra Arora (Pratik Mehra), a famous hotelier and businessman is abducted on 26th August, and, around the same time, a renowned journalist, Shivani Bhatnagar (Aksha Pardasany) is being stalked.
Parallelly, kidnapping and encounter specialist, DCP Samarth Kaushik and CBI officer Hitesh Aggrawal (Gopal Datt) begin investigating these criminal cases and figure out that each of these events is somehow connected to Kathmandu (Nepal’s capital).
He follows the leads and reaches Kathmandu to find the thread connecting these events. Can he track down the missing pieces of the puzzle or the driving force behind these heinous crimes?
Undoubtedly, there are some good elements in this investigative drama that have all the makings of a solid, suspenseful thriller.
Although to be fair, on paper, Kathmandu Connection has all the ingredients for a crime thriller: there’s ample glaring, shootouts, and terse conspiracies but they almost always add up to nothing. Derived of purpose, the turns that most episodes take are shorn of clarity. The result is a show that goes nowhere.
